In its very basic sense a hero is someone somebody looks up too. That being said a hero can have almost infinite different views, traits and values compared to your personal or a cultures definition of a hero.

Dictionary.com defines a hero a:

a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.

Merriam Websters dicninary online defines a hero as:

a : a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability b : an illustrious warrior c : a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities d : one who shows great courage

What is a hero? What makes a hero heroic? Who do we think a hero is? My personal definition of a hero is simply someone who has admirable traits you can look up to and aspire to be. Hollywood often displays a hero as a strong and seemingly invincible force such as superman or the terminator. I personally take a different view on what a hero is and what it takes to be one. I think that good virtues that the person lives by and follows at all times make a person heroic. How many times have you or I done something against our personal value system for any reason? A real true hero does not exist, simply put humans are imperfect so try as we might we will never find the perfect hero. All that a  hero can hope for is to be true to themselves and others around them.
